Track Application Status
Declaration Status Inquiry & Adjudication Monitoring
Overview of Status Tracking Protocols
Upon successful submission of an ESTA declaration through this portal, the Applicant is assigned a unique Application Reference Number (ARN). This identifier serves as the primary instrument for monitoring the progression of the declaration through the administrative adjudication pipeline. All status inquiries, modification requests, and correspondence must reference this number.
Adjudication Pipeline Phases
Each submitted declaration progresses through a structured sequence of administrative phases. The current phase is reflected in the status designation assigned to the declaration. The following table enumerates all possible status designations and their corresponding administrative meanings:
| Status Designation | Administrative Meaning | Applicant Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| Received | The declaration has been received by the administrative system and is pending initial validation. | None — await processing |
| Under Review | The declaration is undergoing data verification and compliance review against regulatory databases. | None — await processing |
| Pending — Additional Information | The adjudicating process has identified data discrepancies or requires supplementary documentation from the Applicant. | Respond within the designated timeframe |
| Authorization Approved | The ESTA declaration has been approved. The Applicant is authorised to travel under the VWP. | Retain confirmation for travel records |
| Travel Not Authorized | The application has been denied. The Applicant is not eligible to travel under the VWP. | Consult U.S. Embassy for visa application |
| Expired | The authorisation validity period has elapsed or the linked passport has expired. | Submit a new declaration if travel is intended |
| Cancelled | The declaration has been withdrawn at the request of the Applicant. | Submit a new declaration if travel is intended |
| Revoked | The previously approved authorisation has been revoked by the adjudicating authority. | Contact the adjudicating authority directly |
Status Notification Protocols
Notifications regarding status transitions are transmitted automatically to the Applicant's registered correspondence address. The following notification schedule is observed:
Acknowledgment of receipt — transmitted immediately upon successful submission
Phase transition notifications — transmitted upon each change in adjudication status
Final determination notice — transmitted upon conclusion of the adjudication process
Supplementary information requests — transmitted when additional data is required, with a specified response deadline
Expiration reminder — transmitted thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of an approved ESTA
Inquiry Escalation Protocol
In the event that the Applicant has not received a status update within seventy-two (72) hours of submission, or if the status designation appears inconsistent with prior correspondence, a formal inquiry may be submitted through the Contact Us portal. All escalation requests must include the Application Reference Number and the registered email address.
Advisory — Response Timelines
Support requests can be submitted 24/7 via email. Typical response time is within 24 hours. The Applicant is advised to refrain from submitting multiple inquiries regarding the same declaration, as this may delay the processing of the response.
[OFFICIAL ADVISORY] — Fraudulent Status Notifications
The Applicant is cautioned against responding to unsolicited communications purporting to represent this portal or any governmental authority. Official correspondence is transmitted exclusively from verified email addresses associated with this portal. Any suspicious communications should be reported immediately.
